Relay Your Way
We are excited to announce an incredible relay event taking place on June 4, 2025, through Falkirk East & West! The Polmont Community Hub Management Committee is absolutely thrilled to have signed up our hero, Monty, who will take the baton from Grangemouth Stadium to Bo'ness foreshore. heres the link

We invite everyone not only in our community but community groups across the district to join us for this exciting occasion. We promise you will not regret it!

For the past four years, our sustainability manager has participated in the "Running Out of Time" relay, where participants take turns passing a baton person to person running walking peddling swimming etc using only sustainable transport. In its inaugural year, Kenny started at Stage Two in Glasgow, ironically >at the marker stone where James Watt is said to have invented the steam machine, marking the beginning of the coal-driven industrial revolution. Now watts historic carbon footprint is massive!

At COP26, the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, Kenny served as a just transition advisor for green groups. He was delighted to be part of the relay marking this international historic event that was held in scotland, that year He carried the baton o er countless stages across Europe, finishing the relay that year in Athens, Greece. From there, the baton was taken to Egypt for COP27, having been passed hand to hand from glasgow the location of COP26 to that year's conference.

The following year, the "Ben to Ben" relay took place, traveling from Ben Nevis to Big Ben. Once again, Kenny played a key role, using sustainable transport between stages and experiencing amazing places as part of the Green Runners community. Each running section was enjoyable for him as he met wonderful people along the way. The finish line at Big Ben was particularly memorable, with many participants running the last few stages together.

Last year, the "Ben to Ben" relay was recreated, but this time Kenny didn't just run; he also cycled a reverse route known as the "Ride to the Sun," which typically goes from Carlisle to Edinburgh. He cycled from Edinburgh to Carlisle, starting with a specially commissioned tram ride in Edinburgh. Then Along with an amazing group of people, they ran to the top of Arthur's Seat, led by the living legend (one of kennys Shero`s), Jasmin Paris.

Kenny could easily write a book about his adventures as part of this fantastic event, highlighting how people and places are making incredible strides toward a sustainable transition. We must all accelerate our efforts to reach net-zero goals. The relay clearly demonstrates that this journey can be fun, beneficial for health, and impactful for the environment, all while participating in social events with great people. Connecting communities across the planet

Here we are in 2025, and the "Running Out of Time" relay is now called "Relay Your Way." So far, Kenny and PCHub have signed up to cycle from Bonnybridge to Bo'ness—a route kenny has run, walked, and cycled many times, along with many others in this community, this time the relay is including a stop at Grangemouth Stadium, where the relay team will meet with local schools.

Everyone is welcome to join a relay stage and be part of this year’s baton’s 2,500 km journey. They have ensured there are inclusive stages for all. Along the route, they will visit schools, clubs, and events, reaching thousands of young people, including those with disabilities. However, they understand that not everyone can participate in a relay stage, so plenty of other ways to get involved and support inclusive play are available, regardless of your location or abbilities - https://www.relayyourway.org/route/Scotland
